Donate to Razing the Bar

Every year, thousands of foster youth transitioning to adulthood find themselves without a home. Your gift can help.

Razing the Bar uses mentorship and housing support to help transition-aged youth achieve self sufficiency. We understand that for them to develop personally, professionally and academically, housing situations need to be stabilized AND they have to feel that they are supported – unconditionally. That’s where RTB comes in. In our self-funded 18 month pilot, all program participants made gains – in earnings alone, the average was more than 30%. Most importantly, however, we’re still connected to these youth, and they are now a part of our growing and lasting network of support.

  • 21 – 50% of foster youth become homeless upon exiting foster care
  • 45% of the homeless in Santa Clara County were foster youths
  • 90% of foster youth aging out of foster care had no income source
